In the situation where it is necessary or desirable to collocate base stations in a single central location. From here the coverage can be extended either via traditional RF cabling or more commonly fibre optic cabling to remote radiating points.

Occasionally a key site needs to be in an environmentally sensitive area, or simply so remote that either there is no electrical power available or it is cost prohibitive to supply (for example, a national park or wilderness area). This doesn't mean that the site cannot proceed!
